Presentation at the Arthroscopy Association of North America

Dr. Carreira will be presenting outcomes of arthroscopic treatment of the posterior anke and foot at the upcoming annual conference in March, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. Patients with posteiror impingment of the foot and ankle from an os trigonum or trigonal process who had posterior ankle pain were noted to have excellent pain and functional outcomes, with a restoration of ankle motion.

Dr. Carreira named President of MASH Study Group

Dr. Carreira was recently named President of MASH (Multicenter Arthroscopy Study of the Hip). He is grateful for the opportunity to lead the group in furthering the understanding of treatments of the adolescent and young adult hip. The coordination of multiple centers in collecting data for research purposes will serve to answer a number of questions related to hip arthroscopy which no single surgeon experience can address.

International Society of Hip Arthroscopy Meeting

The MASH (Multicenter Arthroscopy Study of the Hip) study group (www.mashstudy.com) will be meeting in Rio de Janeiro this week. Dr. Carreira is also presenting the outcomes of allograft labrum reconstructions at the meeting, along with the surgical technique. This scientific meeting is dedicated only to the advancement of hip arthroscopy, with a focus on the surgical treatment of hip injuries, primarily in the adolescent and young adult hip.

Publication in the Main Review Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons

Leading arthroscropic surgeon, Dr. Dominic Carreira published “Extended Indications in Foot and Ankle Arthroscopy” in the December 2013 review in the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. This journal is the most widely read journal that reviews topics for orthopedic surgeons.
