As a leading specialist in hip arthroscopy, Dr. Carreira is regularly interviewed by local and national press, on both the television and radio. Recently, Dr. Carreira was interviewed by La Nueva 1210 AM, a Miami-area radio station, on the topic of hip arthroscopy and its applications.

One of the foremost surgeons working in the field of hip arthroscopy, Dr. Carreira recently featured in a focus story on WPLG Local 10, a local television station in the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area. The news piece highlighted a newer medical procedure called advanced hip arthroscopy, and how that procedure was successfully utilized to help an active younger woman return to full health after a serious hip injury.

As a doctor, I am regularly asked by family members and friends about minimally invasive techniques, as they are increasingly advertised for a variety of different surgical procedures. The basic question that I am repeatedly asked is “Should I have my surgery done that way?” Minimally invasive techniques describe the approach used to perform a surgery, with the goals of surgical treatment remaining the same as the more traditional, and oftentimes more extensive, approaches.

On October 3, 2009 and August 7, 2010, Smith and Nephew sponsored regional hip arthroscopy cadaver courses. A leading surgeon in the field of hip arthroscopy, Dr. Dominic Carreira served as the primary instructor for these courses.
